English for Academic Purposes (EAP)
EAP is recommended for students who do not yet have the required level of English to enter AIAS. This course is delivered in 10, 20 and 30 week terms and there are start dates every 5 weeks. To enter at Stage 1, students need a minimum IELTS level of 4.5. Students should note that IELTS is the only acceptable language test for students from some countries. Check with AIAS to determine if you require an IELTS score.
Applicants may be eligible for a visa to Australia if they do not meet the above requirements if their vocational education and training program is packaged with appropriate preparatory English study, such as that delivered by Embassy or another of our partner English colleges.
Sample weeks of English required:
| IELTS 4.5 |
- Direct to Certificate II
- Embassy EAP 10 weeks* Certificate III or Certificate IV
- Embassy EAP 20 weeks* Diploma or Advanced Diploma
|
| IELTS 5.0 |
- Direct to Certificate III or Certificate IV
- Embassy EAP 10 weeks* Diploma or Advanced Diploma
|
*Successful completion of EAP allows direct entry to AIAS courses. Academic entry requirements must also be met.
